Big bright fully furnished room with its own balcony, fully equipped kitchen and tiled bath with bath tub. Blond hardwood floors. Southern exposure with great lighting all year long especially in winter. Plenty of closet space and extra storage in the basement if needed. This is Hammarby Höjden, the place where many hipsters moved when Södermalm became too expensive and gentrified...small buildings like ours with only 10 apartments, grass all round front and back, a barbecue deck and a grove of trees out back. Urban living with easy access to the town and nature. A minute down the street from the local square with a Coop supermarket, a 7-11, shoemaker/dry cleaner, pharmacy/apoteket, the crappiest pizza place in all of Sweden (and perhaps all of Europe), an overpriced Thai food takeout (if you ask me), and a snygg Swedish cafe on the other side of the Tunnelbana station---so you dont really need to go into town if you dont want to on any given day. But if you do the Tunnelbana station is right there on the square and only three stops from Södermalm, ten minutes to T Centralen downtown. You can also get to Hammarby Sjöstad down the hill by bike in five minutes or to Södermalm on a bike in 10 minutes. Five minutes down the street in the other direction are the woods and trails of Hammarby Skog which open out into the massive Nacka Nature Reserve. This is a perfect situation for a researcher at a place like Karolinska or KTH coming to town for a year, or a young professional, someone with a fairly good income who wants to move into town into a nice area and hit the ground running without having to equip a whole household, just move in and live. The kitchen has all the pots and pans and tableware you need bedclothes and towels are provided there is a desk and workspace where you can plug into the fiber optic internet if you want really high speed internet or the wifi for ordinary usage. All you really need to move in is your toothbrush. The rental agreement is an inneboende contract so no approval from the building association is needed. This is a shared apartment, with a little room off the kitchen reserved for me, but in the coming year I will be away in another country except for brief visits of a week or so now and again, so you will mostly have the run of the place to yourself, with about 37 meters of living space in a 45 meter square apartment. Visitors from other country are welcome. On parle franais couramment aussi... p.s. The map here says that the tunnelbana only runs every 20 minutes, but that is just this summer due to renovation work, by the Fall they will be back to their usual schedule of a train every nine minutes...(and there is a late night bus which stops just a few steps away from here if you miss the last train...)
